Myopia Control can Help Keep Your Prescription low

Myopia is one of the most common refractive errors in the world. Myopia is so widespread that many eye care professionals consider it an epidemic. About half of the world is expected to have some degree of myopia by the year 2050.

However, this does not mean that the condition isn’t manageable. Optometrists around the world have developed a variety of different eye care solutions to help correct and even slow myopia. Some of these strategies can even be implemented in early childhood to help slow myopia’s progression.

If you find that you or your child is having trouble seeing long distances, then please book an eye exam with us today. We can help you find the solutions you need to help you get back to seeing your best.

What Is Ortho-K (Mandarin)

What is Myopia?

Myopia, sometimes referred to as nearsightedness, is a common refractive error that causes blurry distance vision. It often occurs early in life as the eye begins to grow. As it grows, it can become elongated, distorting light and causing it to focus in front of the retina instead of on it. This condition often worsens as your eye continues to grow, and most patients experience increasingly high prescriptions until adulthood.

Other side effects of myopia include headaches and tired or sore eyes. Myopia can also worsen the symptoms of digital eye strain.

What Can Vision Dynamics Do To Help?

Ortho-K contact lenses are a revolutionary piece of technology used to help mitigate the symptoms of myopia. These contact lenses gently reshape the surface of your cornea while you sleep, temporarily correcting your refractive error.

When you wake up, you should be able to see without the use of glasses or daytime wear contact lenses.

NaturalVue contact lenses are multifocal contacts that may slow down the rate of myopia development, particularly with children. How this works is through the use of Extended Depth of Focus Technology.

This helps the wearer see everything clearly, both up close and farther away.

Eyezen eyeglass lenses are single-focus lenses designed to help mitigate symptoms of digital eye strain. Depending on the patient, they may be able to alleviate the symptoms of myopia.

Ready to Clearly See The World?

Strategies for controlling your myopia might be only an appointment away! Please, book an appointment with your optometrist today so we can help you get the crisp, clear vision you’ve always wanted.
